Your footage, handled like it is yours.
Traffic footage shows real people and real vehicles. This page says what happens to it at every step, who can see it, and when it is gone.
From upload to deletion
- Footage is uploaded encrypted, through the browser or a bulk transfer, and stays encrypted while the job runs.
- Once the invoice is paid, a trained Wayro engineer checks the markings you drew on each camera. That is the only time a person looks at your footage, and only to check where the AI will count.
- The footage is processed once: every vehicle and pedestrian is detected, tracked and classified.
- The numbers are released per camera as each one finishes, in the dashboard and as CSV, Excel, JSON or the API.
- The footage is deleted from our systems when your results are released, unless you ask us to keep it for a revised study. Then it is deleted when that study is done.
Footage is never sold, never shared and never used for anything but your job.
Where it is kept
Wayro runs in its own cloud in your region. Where the law or your policy asks for it, storage stays in your country, or Wayro runs inside your own environment on request. We agree which of these applies before the first upload.
Who can see it
- Your team sees what its roles allow: Owner, Admin, Operator and Viewer each have their own permissions for jobs, cameras, quotes and billing.
- Sign-in is through single sign-on or with two-factor authentication, set on the dashboard's Settings page. API keys are issued per workspace.
- Wayro sees your footage only for the engineer check and to process your job.
Faces and number plates
The numbers carry no identities: counts, classes, times, lanes and routes, with no faces and no number plates. Where the law requires it, faces and number plates are anonymised at source.
Annotated video is different: it is your footage with a box and a label on every vehicle we followed, so it shows what the cameras showed. It is handled like footage and deleted the same way. Order it only where you need to check the counts by eye.
The agreement
A data-processing agreement covers every project. It names what is processed, where it is kept, who can see it and when it is deleted, and it is in place before the first upload.
